Cops decline to investigate stabbing of Junior Gotti

John (Junior)Gotti with Lindsay Lohan and film producer Marc Fiore back in 2011.
No video. No cooperation. No police investigation.
Nassau County cops said Tuesday they’re no longer probing the alleged stabbing of John Gotti Jr.
And behind the scenes, law enforcement sources have expressed doubt about the mob icon’s story that he was stabbed in the gut Sunday while breaking up a fight between strangers in the parking lot of a CVS in Syosett, L.I.
There are no cameras in the parking lot. An employee of Bagel Masters in the same shopping center as the CVS told the Daily News that no one from law enforcement had asked to review the surveillance videotape of the area immediately in front of his store.

Gotti didn’t call the police after the alleged attack. He first made the claim after walking into a Long Island hospital.
Gotti’s former best friend says the Good Samaritan tale sounds bogus because the son of late Gambino crime boss John Gotti isn’t a legitimate tough guy.
“Anyone that knows him from the streets or jail knows he’s soft with a big mouth,” ex-Gambino associate John Alite told The News. “I was his shield — or someone like me — for years.”
Another source says Gotti usually travels with big, burly companions resembling bodybuilders.

A police spokeswoman on Tuesday referred inquiries to the office of Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice, which apparently does have an interest in the mysterious attack over the weekend.
Gotti could insert his version of the stabbing in the planned biopic “Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father,” although that project is something of a mystery, too.
The film was supposed to start shooting in September with a star-studded cast including Anthony Hopkins, John Travolta, Al Pacino and Kelly Preston. But the production has been plagued by changes in directors and funding.
“The movie is definitely still happening, but right now the important thing is my friend’s health,” producer Marc Fiore said.

He was adamant that the Mafia biopic has kicked off its cement shoes after a series of false starts.
A rep for Travolta, who is slated to play Gotti Sr., was asked if the actor had any comment on the stabbing.
“He likes John Gotti Jr. a lot,” the rep said.
