Update: Gotti Jr. Trial

The feds are considering whether to bring charges against Junior Gotti in connection with his alleged court room outburst earlier in the week directed at witness John Alite as reported by Bruce Golding for the New York Post:

Gotti shocked observers on Thursday by launching into a furious tirade against ex-pal John Alite, calling the turncoat mobster a "fag," a "punk" and a "dog" after Alite, on his way out of the courtroom, turned to Gotti and said: "You got something to say to me?" A prosecutor told the judge that the entire incident -- which took place just after the jury left for lunch -- was prompted by Gotti mouthing the words "I'll kill you" to Alite. That account came from a marshal with the witness-protection program who was stationed near Alite, prosecutor Elie Honig said. The mob informer later told the judge that Gotti "lipped" the threat, saying: "We're gonna kill you."

Golding further reports that the alleged outburst was sparked by Alite's testimony "about the unsolved murder of a woman whose body was found in Brooklyn in 1985":

Her name was never mentioned in court, but John Alite -- the Mafia turncoat whose testimony prosecutors hope will finally put the mob scion away -- testified about a slaying strikingly similar to that of Robin Lynn Vitulli, who was found dead after partying with Gotti's uncle at a Queens motel. During his testimony, Alite said he had heard that Vincent Gotti had strangled a woman during a drug-fueled sex party. * * * "That's not the first time with that family killing girls and raping them," he added before prosecutors cut him off.
