Vinny Gorgeous bragged about killing Randolph Pizzolo says mob rat
Generoso "Jimmy the General" Barbieri (left) testified against Vinny Gorgeous (right) Wednesday.
A mob rat said Wednesday former Bonanno boss Vincent "Vinny Gorgeous" Basciano took credit for killing an associate while gloating over a Daily News article about the rubout.
Ex-capo Generoso "Jimmy the General" Barbieri detailed in Brooklyn Federal Court how Basciano and other Bonannos were eating breakfast at the Metropolitan Detention Center when they came across the December 2004 newspaper account of the murder of Randolph Pizzolo.
"You owe me one," Barbieri recalled Basciano telling him.
Then Bonanno capo Patrick DeFilippo chimed in that Pizzolo's "mouth is his own worst enemy," Barbieri said on the stand.
Basciano is charged with ordering Pizzolo's death for a slew of transgressions the mob associate had committed.
Meanwhile, Judge Nicholas Garaufis gave Basciano a timeout yesterday after the defendant grew enraged over an evidentiary ruling that didn't go his way.
"They want to kill me!" he ranted, referring to prosecutors who are seeking the death penalty.
Garaufis ordered him removed from the courtroom, but he returned after a 10-minute break. The jury was not present during the tantrum.
