"Vinny Gorgeous" wants to take his radio to Super Max

He dodged lethal injection, but mob boss Vincent "Vinny Gorgeous" Basciano can't face life in prison without his radio.
"I have a radio right now -- so I'm hoping that it follows me to ADX," said the former Bonanno crime family boss, referring to the federal Administrative Maximum prison in Florence, Colo., known as "Super Max," where he'll spend the rest of his life.
The wiseguy raised the issue with Judge Nicholas Garaufis in Brooklyn federal court -- in anticipation of serving two life sentences at the prison after being convicted of ordering two mob rubouts.
Basciano, 51, says he currently has a radio in solitary confinement at the federal Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, where he's lived for several years awaiting the capital-murder trial in which he was convicted month.
The mobster isn't happy about going to Super Max, either, and his attorneys say they plan to fight the Justice Department's decision to send Basciano to the facility's ultra-secure "H Block" for prisoners who pose special security risks.
