Associate gets 6 months for buying ammo for mobsters

A minor associate of mobsters Nicky Scarfo Jr. Salvatore Pelullo was sentenced Friday to six months in prison for providing the two convicted felons with ammunition.
Todd Stark, who was once Pelullo's driver, pleaded guilty in June to buying two boxes of 9mm bullets for Scarfo in 2007.
As a convicted felon, Scarfo, 46, is prohibited from possessing a gun or ammunition. Two boxes of 9mm bullets were found in Scarfo's residence in May 2008.
Stark, 44, admitted that Pelullo had asked him in code to buy the ammunition.
"I need two pair of those size 9 shoes," Pelullo said in the call, one of dozens recorded by the FBI during an investigation into the alleged takeover by Scarfo and Pelullo of FirstPlus Financial, a Texas-based mortgage company.
Stark was named in the 25-count racketeering indictment targetting Scarfo and Pelullo, but only was charged with the single weapons count.
In addition to the prison term, U.S. District Judge Robert B. Kugler sentenced Stark to three years of supervised release.
