Mom puts up her house to bail out her mobster son
This reputed Bonanno’s a real mama’s boy.
“He’s 49 years old, he lives with his mother,” a lawyer for one of the alleged Viagra-slinging mobsters in a recent Bonanno crew takedown told a Manhattan judge yesterday.
“His mother is going to put up her house,” defense lawyer Joel Winograd told Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Melissa Jackson of Richard Sinde, 49, and his 75-year-old mother Cora’s $600,000 home in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.
“He is, I must say, a degenerate gambler,” Winograd argued, in making his unsuccessful bid for low bail.
Sinde, who prosecutors believe was a major procurer of black-market Viagra and Cialis along with helping run a $9 million-a-year bookmaking business, is being held in lieu of $300,000 bail.

According to court records, Sinde possessed a money counter and kept meticulous computer records “in managing accounts of and collecting money from gamblers.”
